VP Finance / CFO (Operational Finance Leadership)

We are conducting a confidential search for a senior finance leader to partner directly with ownership and executive leadership across a growing multi-entity operating platform.

This is not a traditional corporate finance or accounting leadership role. The right person will operate as both a strategic business partner and a hands-on financial operator, helping leadership improve visibility, drive profitability, strengthen infrastructure, and support continued growth.

The environment is entrepreneurial, fast-moving, and highly collaborative. Success in this role requires someone who enjoys building, solving problems, and staying close to operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all finance and accounting activities across multiple business lines and operating entities

• Partner directly with ownership on growth strategy, capital allocation, investment decisions, and business performance

• Build and improve reporting packages, KPI dashboards, forecasting tools, and operational visibility

• Develop processes and financial infrastructure that support scalability

• Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and scenario analysis

• Improve profitability visibility across projects, service lines, and business units

• Oversee close process, internal controls, and accounting operations

• Support banking relationships, financing discussions, and external partners

• Evaluate systems, reporting tools, and opportunities for process improvement and automation

• Work cross-functionally with operational leadership to improve decision making and accountability

• Be willing to get into the details when needed to solve problems and drive execution

Ideal Background

• 10+ years progressive finance leadership experience

• Experience operating in multi-entity or multi-business environments

• Strong understanding of operational finance and business performance drivers

• Experience supporting project-based, service-oriented, asset-intensive, or entrepreneurial businesses

• Comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on execution

• Strong executive communication and ability to influence stakeholders

• Systems and process improvement mindset

• Experience working with lenders, ownership groups, investors, or complex business structures is a plus

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus performance incentives and long-term upside participation depending on experience and fit.
