Position Overview

About the Opportunity

Partnership Employment is recruiting an HR Coordinator for a well-established, internationally headquartered oil and gas company in West Houston. This is a newly created role, which means you won't be inheriting someone else's way of doing things. You'll have the rare chance to shape the position and make it your own.

The focus is international payroll and benefits administration for the company's expatriate and international assignee population. You'll work closely with an external paying agent, accounting, tax advisors, and a tight-knit HR team of 7 that supports roughly 350 employees locally.

This company has been around for 50 years and it shows in the best ways: long employee tenure, a family-oriented culture, regular employee events, and leadership that genuinely takes care of its people.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate end-to-end international payroll, including capturing variable compensation and deductions, processing monthly timesheets, and reviewing paying agent invoices
  • Provide monthly wage and expense reports to Accounting
  • Administer expatriate benefits and pension plans, including enrollments, changes, transfers, and terminations
  • Reconcile medical, disability, and group life insurance statements and invoices
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll and salary questions
  • Liaise with tax advisors to support personal income tax filings, both monthly and annual
  • Maintain accurate HR records, including attendance, leave tracking, and onboarding/offboarding in the HRIS
  • Prepare quarterly headcount reports and support the HR Director and HRBPs with special projects

What We're Looking For

  • 2 to 3+ years of HR experience, with hands-on exposure to visas and supporting expatriate or international employees (this is the must-have)
  • Experience in oil and gas or energy; offshore exposure is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is highly preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel; HRIS or payroll system experience is a plus
  • Sharp attention to detail and a high standard for data accuracy
  • Polished, organized, and professional in communication with employees, vendors, and leadership
  • A stable work history and interest in building a long-term home

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $60,000 to $65,000, depending on experience
  • Annual bonus of up to 10%
  • Excellent benefits with three PPO medical plan options
  • 401K with a 3% match plus an additional 3 to 4% company contribution
  • Profit sharing
  • 12 paid holidays plus 2 additional holidays
  • Flexible start times (7-4, 8-5, or 9-6)
  • Free breakfast every Thursday, holiday parties, and frequent employee events

Details

  • Location: West Houston (Energy Corridor area), 4 days per week onsite
  • Type: Direct hire, full time
  • No direct reports; reports to a senior member of the HR leadership team

Job Search Strategies for 2026: How to Get Hired in an AI-Driven Market

The job hunt no longer rewards effort. It rewards strategy. If you have applied to dozens of roles this year and heard nothing back, the problem probably is not you. The market itself has shifted. Recruiters now see more than 300 applications for a single opening, roughly triple what they saw five years ago. The […]

Is Your Compensation Package Actually Competitive in 2026?

The headline numbers look encouraging. Nominal wages rose 4.1% year-over-year through early 2026 while inflation ran at 2.4%, the first sustained period in several years where worker pay has technically outpaced rising prices. And yet 62% of employed Americans say their income has not kept up with their household expenses, according to a Bankrate survey […]

When the Algorithm Screens Out Your Best Hire

AI in recruiting has moved from experiment to standard practice in a remarkably short window. Roughly 43% of organizations worldwide used AI for HR and recruiting tasks in 2025, up from just 26% the year before. Hiring teams cite real efficiency gains: faster resume screening, reduced time on scheduling, and broader reach across candidate pools. […]
