About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing organization seeking an Operational Accountant to join its finance team.

This role sits at the intersection of accounting and operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys improving processes, digging into data, and helping leadership make informed business decisions. This person will become a key contributor within the finance function and work closely with leadership on day-to-day accounting operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and comfortable partnering across departments to drive operational and financial performance.

Position Overview

The Operational Accountant will support core accounting functions while helping strengthen reporting, processes, controls, and business operations. This position offers broad exposure across accounting, operations, inventory, analysis, and financial planning activities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Perform monthly account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare financial reports and operational performance metrics
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting processes
• Support audit requests and documentation preparation

Operational Accounting & Analysis

• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Support margin analysis, profitability reporting, and business performance measurement
• Monitor inventory activity and related accounting transactions

Process Improvement & Business Partnership

• Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams to improve workflows and controls
• Support process documentation and development of scalable operating procedures
• Help maintain ERP data integrity and identify system enhancements
• Develop ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting, financial analysis, cost accounting, or operational accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills including financial analysis and reporting tools
• Experience working within ERP systems preferred
• Ability to communicate financial information to operational stakeholders
• Manufacturing, distribution, inventory, or operations-oriented accounting experience strongly preferred
