A stable, privately owned manufacturing company is seeking an Accounting Manager to serve as the lead accounting professional for the organization. This is a hands-on position responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day accounting operations while working directly with ownership.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the accounting function, improving processes, and making a meaningful impact within a growing manufacturing business.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Supervise one Accounting Assistant
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Support inventory accounting and manufacturing reporting
- Partner directly with ownership on financial reporting and business decisions
- Assist with budgeting, cash management, and audit support
- Identify and implement process improvements, including banking and payment efficiencies
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Manufacturing accounting experience required
- Inventory accounting experience required
- Experience owning month-end close and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff is a plus
- ERP experience required (Sage experience is highly desirable)
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Stable, privately owned company with no plans to sell
