Position Overview

Summary of Position: (Provide a brief narrative, one or two sentences, that highlights the primary purpose to the organization and key responsibilities of the job).
Provide payroll and administrative support to the Human Resource Department, with an emphasis on payroll, benefits administration and hiring.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:  (State the essential functions of the job, organized from most to least essential.  Include normal day-to-day duties as well as duties that occur at irregular intervals but that are of a recurring and essential nature. Include leadership and managerial responsibilities, if applicable).
  • Responsible for bi-weekly multi-state payroll preparation.  Duties include reviewing and computing employee time cards; entering employee master file information and pay data; ensuring accuracy of payroll prior to submitting to payroll processor.
  • Coordinate changes and modifications to payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for all non-exempt personnel and temporary employees.
  • Responsible for new employee onboarding, e-verify and orientation.
  • Maintain employment and benefit files.
  • Responsible for processing enrollments, changes and terminations for all benefit plans in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Assist with the benefit annual open enrollment process.
  • Reconcile and process monthly invoices for benefit plans.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, procedures and programs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of federal, state and local regulations regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Assist with workers compensation and disability claims.
  • Respond to notices for claims filed for unemployment insurance benefits.
  • Participate in Safety committee.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:  (List the minimum required education, prior experience, certifications, licenses, and specialized areas of knowledge required to adequately perform the essential functions of the job).
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, HR Certification or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of three years experience in payroll and benefits administration. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish desired.
  • Experience with Paycom software desired.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft products, payroll and report writing softwares.
